Claro Brazil is a telecommunications operator offering mobile, satellite TV, fixed-line, and broadband services across Brazil.

Role

Part of the Smart Content innovation team in an Agile setup with 3 data scientists, 2 developers, 2 quality engineers, a designer, product owner, scrum master, and product manager. Worked as Product Owner for 9 months.

Design Process

My approach followed a structured UX process:

Empathize: Stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, competitor analysis

Define: Problem statements, user journeys

Ideate: Information architecture, user flows

Design: Wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, visual design

Test: Usability checks, Google Analytics feedback

Tools: Figma, Miro, Microsoft Office

Overview

Created a new page and redesigned existing pages for AI-powered content recommendation APIs. The goal was to improve visibility, usability, and engagement for video and music recommendations.

Solutions

  • Redesigned recommendation pages to reduce screens, clarify information, and create a smooth user journey.
  • Applied design system components, responsive layouts, and visually engaging UI (cinematic black backgrounds, vibrant call-to-actions).
  • Launched over 3 new APIs that were integrated across multiple Claro products.

Challenges

Tested innovative concepts like gamified discovery; usability testing revealed users preferred a simpler flow.

Results

  • Improved usability and engagement of recommendation interfaces.
  • Streamlined cross-product API adoption.
